As a Senior Visual Designer within the Brand Creative team, you will use your creative eye and technical prowess to concept and extend campaigns through all digital and offline marketing channels while maintaining consistent brand standards. The ideal candidate exhibits high craft, attention to detail, and superb organization skills to design and support designers to ship high quality deliverables. You will apply and follow production execution rules to all work, layouts and print-ready files, including message hierarchy, branding elements, type-setting, photography and illustrations while ensuring quality and accuracy of work per standards and best practices. The role requires close collaboration with brand and marketing teams on executing layout revisions, creating concepts & presentations for stakeholder and leadership reviews. The ability to manage a high volume of assets with quick turnaround is key, but doing it with positivity and humor is even more important!

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do...

  • Plan, create and optimize creative design systems for visual assets across digital and physical media, including web, email, paid marketing, blog, social, retail and wholesale signage; must have a strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Assist the Creative Director with developing and presenting design concepts. Lead brainstorming sessions, and help guide the design team to create campaigns that align with brand guidelines, standards and project briefs
  • Understand and execute effectively across a 360° omnichannel marketing campaign funnel (awareness, consideration, conversion)
  • Stay current and up-to-date on leading design trends within and outside of the mattress and home goods industry
  • Mentor creative team members by providing guidance, feedback and support to junior designers, helping them develop their skills and knowledge
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; must be willing to participate in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment
  • Photo compositing (comping) for 3D product renders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize across projects to ensure deadlines are met
  • Build and maintain working files inside a collaborative file structure
  • Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality

Our dream candidate is/has: 

  • 5-7 years of relevant design experience
  • Portfolio that demonstrates ability to bring a brand to life in a compelling way that aligns with brand standards
  • Proven track record of work demonstrating the ability to apply fundamental design skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to extend detailed concepts across multiple formats and apply proportions of scale to each
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, conceptualize and creatively execute marketing & design strategy across the full funnel and multiple omnichannel touch points
  • Experience animating display and social assets as well as building assets for multiple languages/locales
  • Skilled in preparing files for both digital and offset printing, including thorough preflighting to meet technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to make quick turnaround edits and revisions based on feedback from others
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), and Box
  • This role requires working onsite at our Richmond, VA office as a hybrid employee; however, we are also open to candidates based in New York who can work out of our NYC office.

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 USD
