Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer III to join the Experimentation Platform (A/B testing). Our platform supports 100+ active internal users across multiple teams and organizations, enabling rigorous A/B testing to drive new customer experiences! In this role, you’ll be instrumental in scaling our data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytical frameworks. This is a high-impact, high-visibility position that plays a critical role in how Chewy measures and implements customer-facing changes. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across the business, gaining exposure to diverse domains and influencing decision-making at the highest levels. What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead efforts to establish robust data quality standards, build efficient metric aggregation pipelines (ETL), and develop intuitive, impactful results visualizations.  
  • Establish behavioral tracking and experiment tagging that are optimized for downstream analytics.  
  • Partner with Data Scientists to implement advanced statistical methodologies and integrate them into self-service tooling.  
  • Engage with partners across the business to promote experimentation best practices and drive adoption across the organization. 
  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze high impact A/B tests for high impact initiatives.  
  • Proactively identify business needs across teams and organizations and translate them into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work effectively within the overall platform architecture. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science) or related experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience of BI data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure, and ETL. 
  • 5+ years of experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Plotly etc... 
  • 5+ years of experience modeling in Big Data environments (EMR, Snowflake, DataBricks, Google Cloud etc...). 
  • 3+ years of experience with A/B testing and/or causal inference methodologies, preferably within e-commerce environment.  
  • Strong understanding of statistics (confidence intervals, statistical power, false discovery etc...). 
  • Advanced object-oriented programing in Python. 
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (complex querying and optimization). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical partners. 
  • Familiarity with using LLMs and AI Agents to automate data and analytical workflows. 

 

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.

Pay Range
$155,500$222,000 USD
