Our Opportunity:

Chewy is currently recruiting for a Manager, Procurement reporting to our VP Facilities and Real Estate, at our headquarters in Dania Beach, Florida.  Chewy is one of the fastest growing e-commerce enterprises around and is rapidly disrupting the traditional pet specialty channels. You will lead the organization’s corporate purchasing/procurement function, focusing on Corporate Solutions.  This is the opportunity to make an immediate, meaningful and lasting impact to our fast growing company. You’ll be responsible for creating and implementing the company’s procurement/buying strategy across our corporate offices, as well as, leading sourcing engagement and vendor negotiations on opportunities across the organization. Though you will be supported by your Finance teammates, you’ll be the company’s agent so you must be able to roll up your sleeves and deliver results. You should plan to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and scale with the company.

What You'll Do:

  • Select vendors and lead major negotiations to procure Corporate categories (e.g. Marketing, ecommerce, customer service, human resources)
  • Drive and demonstrate P&L savings across spend categories, communicating results to executive leadership team
  • Conduct analysis of spending patterns for TCO savings opportunities across all categories
  • Develop our preferred vendor portfolio, monitor internal compliance to preferred vendor usage, and develop/enforce standard required terms and conditions
  • Review specifications, analyze market and select potential suppliers, lead the RFQ process, analyze prices/quality expectations/delivery dates/terms, negotiate prices and terms, and award and communicate orders to suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for contracts and agreements
  • Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams, Trade Associations, and Advisory Service Organizations to select suppliers for new products and optimize supplier base
  • Evaluate/manage vendor/suppliers through KPIs
  • Contract administration, quality assurance, modification of special terms, and contract closeout or termination
  • Establish and enforce procedures to ensure proper procurement standards, processes and controls for the organization
  • Over time, build a strong cohesive purchasing team that works in harmony across the organization

 What You'll Need:

  • An owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive
  • Strategic thinking mindset to define the best negotiation methodology/tactic per project to maximize goals and achievements
  • Strong negotiations skills, a history of creating value for organizations, passion for achieving and demonstrating results
  • BA/BS plus a minimum of 5 years of industry-related purchasing/sourcing experience; advanced degree is preferred
  • CPP, CPPM, CPPO/CPBO, or CPM Certification is a plus
  • Ability and experience managing contracts across departments
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to be able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented and data driven environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office application
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel proficiency
  • Strong Analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Experience running competitive request for proposals (RFPs)
  • Purchasing and contract renewal negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment 
  • Position may require travel
