You're a seasoned Postgres database expert and developer and are interested in taking your career to the next level while working alongside our data and engineering teams. You’ll be working in a small team supporting a large Postgres footprint. You’ll be responsible for production and development operations and play a key role in driving forward our data initiatives.

What You Will Work On
Senior engineer supporting a large number of PostgreSQL instances running in our hybrid cloud. Everything from RDS, Aurora, RedShift, and EnterpriseDB to community editionEngineer solutions that are always available and support a 24/7 operations through measured SLA’sManage HA architectures, disaster recovery, and backup/restore processesUnderstand and apply advanced database administration, management and performance-tuning techniquesRepeatable builds, automation, documentation, and alerting are part of your technology wheelhouse and path to productionizing a stackProvide advanced technical troubleshooting for applications and database systemsConfigure and tune hardware and software to ensure optimum performance and resource utilizationParticipate in design and application review sessionsDevelop Python and shell scripts, procedures and processes for data migration and application developmentParticipate in meetings and conference calls related to project and troubleshooting activitiesProvide support for database-related project activitiesDevelop strong working knowledge of key applications and their interaction with the database(s)
Who We Are Looking For
Minimum of seven (7) years experience with administering and maintaining Postgres-based applications to achieve reliability and availability SLAsMinimum of seven (7) years experience with PostgreSQL version upgrades, migrations, and patching running in a hybrid cloudBachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science or related discipline preferredProven experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably in a production environmentTuning of SQL statements and PL/pgSQL codeGitRelease management and SDLCExperience working in a 24x7 development environmentDatabase analysis and design expertiseData extraction, transformation, and loadingCapable of working and managing multiple diverse projects in an agile environment.Enjoys complex problem-solving and solutioning with a team
