CIC is looking for a personable and organized individual to lead the events program. This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone with at least 5 years of professional experience developing, curating, and leading events and programming.

ABOUT CIC PHILADELPHIA
CIC Philadelphia is located within uCity Square at 3675 Market Street, alongside our local partner, the University City Science Center. At 3675 Market, CIC offers world-class office and lab facilities, while the Science Center supports its nationally recognized technology commercialization programs, as well as new programs focused on mentoring, funding, strategy development and resources to accelerate businesses from idea to IPO and beyond.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
This role is focused on event coordination within the CIC space. However, the Events Lead will also frequently engage with other internal CIC teams such as operations or sales, as well as community partners, building tenants, and anchor partners through an events lens. The work entails collaborative projects, as well as independent work.
Responsibilities may include:
• Owning and facilitating all aspects of CIC Philadelphia events hosted by CIC members and 3675 Market Street partners. This entails managing event details through the entire process.
• Coordination includes providing tours and quotes for event spaces and conference rooms, conducting consistent and effective correspondence with event hosts, communicating with building management and security, updating the Certificate of Insurance for vendors, ensuring all event details are clear to the CIC Team and in line with CIC policies, marketing events to the startup community, arranging event staffing, and managing event follow-up and evaluation.
• Curating and developing events and programming that provide enrichment and value to the CIC community.
• Identify beneficial content and effective platforms, such as panel discussions, local and international speakers, and conferences, to successfully execute events.
• Working closely with Philadelphia stakeholders in our community and innovation ecosystem to identify gaps in programming and, by partnering with outside organizations, address them through creative ideas and execution. Key areas where CIC has developed events and programming include education, fintech, health technology, resiliency planning, climate change, creative economy, and more.
• Collaborating with larger partners for conferences and co-hosted events, as well as with CIC’s nonprofit partner, Venture Cafe, on events and programming for CIC event series within the Venture Cafe’s weekly Thursday programming.
• Train and supervise a small, nimble events team as needed.
• Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with partners and ties in the community.
• Support other members of the Philadelphia team and global CIC events team with tasks and projects, as appropriate or necessary.
• Development and support of social media, website, and communications materials for events, programming, and company goals. This includes designing events flyers, in print and digital collateral, and branding for events and programming.
• Oversee the development and execution of the monthly external newsletter.
• Be the face of, and represent CIC Events at conferences, community meetings, outside events, and more

Has a resilient mindset and approach to events and projects that need to be completed even when things don’t go as planned
• An understanding of audio/visual equipment and readiness to develop expertise for new and emerging technologies
• An understanding of event data tracking systems similar to CRM, Tripleseat, or other tools that measure success and collect event experience feedback.
• Creative eye for design and outreach methods of engagement. Experience with social media and design tools and willingness to expand your skill set.
YOU HAVE
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Five years of experience coordinating events (experience with social justice, community organizing, or community building strongly preferred) Experience in event promotion and engagement strategies, data collection, and collaborative relationships.
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and to attend community events on behalf of CIC Philadelphia
• A natural interest in helping and supporting others.
• An interest in a long-term role; we are a growing company, and we like to hire people who can grow with us over the years.
• Understanding of Philadelphia and community organizations and engagement is preferred.

• Starting compensation is $58,145 per year.
