Our preparedness expertise sits within Accenture’s Cyber Defence Advisory Services practise and delivers a range of work; primarily in the cyber incident preparedness space. Table-top and simulation exercises are core to what we offer; along with developing incident response plans, playbooks and performing ‘preparedness’ reviews.

The role of our Incident Preparedness Consultants is diverse and offers and array of opportunities, both technical and managerial, for industry experts who are highly skilled and recognised within this service area.

The person taking on this role will be experienced and flexible – being able to take on a range of bespoke and unusual engagements, understand that ‘one size fits all’ is not appropriate. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Ownership and delivery of client projects; primarily in the areas described above
  • Development of a specialist discipline, subject matter or service
  • Client engagement and management throughout the project
  • Support on pre-sales, technical proposals, and scoping of complex engagements
  • Manage projects and programme delivery to time and to budget
  • Design and scope complex and bespoke engagements
  • Maintain relevant professional certifications and contribute to industry bodies as appropriate
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation, helping to set company standards for reporting, project, and technical QA
  • Ability to listen to client needs, interpret and capture specific requirements, mapping these to Accenture services
  • Strong report and technical writing skills
  • Analytical mind-set and approach
  • Person Specification

  • Essential:
  • Previous consultative client facing experience
  • Considerable in-depth technical expertise working in IT Security
  • Experience in management and governance of IT Security
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of technical projects
  • Experience of having written and delivered cyber exercises and incident response plans
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical information and tailor briefings and communications at the appropriate level.

  • Desirable:
  • Incident Response and Management experience
  • Previous line management/mentoring experience
  • Board level engagement
  • Location UK

  • This role can be based from our dedicated Cyber Defence facilities in London or Cheltenham, or from our Edinburgh office working alongside Cyber Defence colleagues. Alternatively the role can be performed remotely from any location within reach of an Accenture UK office.
