The Impact of a Solution Architect - Coupa Pay at Coupa:

This is a great opportunity to join Coupa’s growing Coupa Pay delivery team in a key role supporting successful customer outcomes and enabling partners to deploy Pay products with confidence. As a Coupa Pay Solution Architect, you’ll work closely with Coupa’s strategic partners, internal teams, and customers to ensure Pay is implemented the right way from day one — using best practices, aligned design, and hands-on support across the full deployment lifecycle.

This role is central to the success of Coupa Pay implementations, especially in our PIE (Partner Implementation Excellence) program. You’ll provide guidance, oversight, and expert support during design, build, and rollout phases, and help drive adoption of Pay products such as Virtual Cards and Digital Payments.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with Coupa Pay Alliances, Sales, and Delivery to provide expert guidance on Coupa Pay implementation best practices
  • Participate in partner-led customer kickoffs to ensure Coupa Pay is not de-scoped and is properly integrated into the broader P2P design
  • Lead or support design reviews, validate configurations, and flag issues early before deployment
  • Review order forms and SOWs to identify Pay scope, potential gaps, and alignment with Pay readiness standards
  • Act as a subject matter expert for key Coupa Pay use cases: Digital Payments, Virtual Cards and TransferMate 
  • Work with partners to validate their planned system configurations and integrations meet Coupa Pay design standards
  • Assist in troubleshooting configuration gaps and Pay-specific supplier enablement issues
  • Document findings, feedback, and partner performance to help refine program standards and ensure consistent delivery
  • Support non-billable partner enablement efforts (typically 5–10 hours per customer), and help scope billable workstreams as needed for complex use cases
  • Collaborate closely with Coupa’s Alliances team to identify high-performing partners and those needing additional oversight
  • What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Solid understanding of payments, banking processes, or fintech solutions; experience with Virtual Cards, bank transfers, or supplier payment workflows is a strong plus
  • Experience working with or for technology implementation partners or software providers
  • Strong consulting, client-facing, or partner engagement skills; able to influence without direct authority
  • A hands-on approach to testing and validating real payment scenarios inside customer environments
  • Clear understanding of the challenges around supplier onboarding, SPA creation, and SIM configuration
  • Ability to translate business needs into system requirements and guide partners toward scalable solutions
  • Previous Coupa experience is helpful, but not required — willingness to learn fast is key
