The Business Development Manager will develop consulting, problem-solving engagements leveraging DataRobot’s industry-leading AI Enterprise Engagements to a portfolio of Federal agencies. Using their strategic orientation and consulting mindset, the Business Development Manager will help complex Federal agencies navigate the transformation to an “AI-Driven Enterprise.” The ideal candidate is a polished communicator and master relationship builder with strong business acumen.

The Business Development Manager will also be the internal champion of the DRGov product offerings they help to create, engaging with other internal DataRobot resources to build successful repeatable offerings. The ideal candidate is an expert at working with clients and colleagues to promote the objective of the customer and advance the success of DataRobot. The Business Development Manager should have the capacity to identify and capitalize on expansion opportunities, based on client needs.

What You Will Do 

You are the bridge between new clients and DataRobot’s delivery teams. As an engaging leader with a consultative approach, you will be responsible for growing business for the DRGov vertical (healthcare, defense, justice & security). Your partnerships with current and potential clients, backed by the expertise of the DataRobot delivery teams are the drivers for new opportunities. You have a balanced approach, supporting internal and external initiatives - being able to identify client pain-points creating new engagements and creative solutions, or scaling existing solutions to new agencies and offices. 

You are also an internal champion, ensuring the DRGov vertical strategy is well-defined and aligned with the competing priorities of the delivery teams.

What You Will Bring 

  • Growth strategy and execution experience demonstrating team leadership, multidimensional problem-solving, and ability to communicate and persuade at a senior executive level. 
  • Consultative sales and partnership experience at the vertical-lead level (e.g. partner, CXO or Deputy, etc.) going from product to market or market to product. Able to go from abstract problem to prototype solution sketches.
  • Marketing content creation for audiences of one like senior executives or broader audiences of creative mediums, using the prior and potential success of other DataRobot teams.
  • Expertise and passion in the mission areas our clients will face (in Defense, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Civilian agencies).
  • Government contracting experience and ability to coach DataRobot and client teams on processes is a strong plus (e.g. OTAs, big program bids, etc.). 
  • BA/BS degree and, with an advanced degree preferred (MBA, JD, Ph.D., MA) 
  • Senior-level relationship management and communication skills are critical.
