Job Title: Senior Narrative Designer

Studio/Department:  Dimensional Ink Games

Dimensional Ink Studio in Austin is looking for an experienced Senior Narrative Designer that can join the Dimensional Ink team to lead the narrative of DCUO to bring our storytelling to the next level. You will work closely with the Creative Director and the design team to brainstorm story scenarios, create dialog, and implement the material you created.


As the Project’s lead writer, you will be:

  • Reporting to the Creative Director.
  • Determining story arcs for the game’s quests.
  • Working directly with the design team planning and writing mission content.
  • At times, assisting content designers implementing mission content.
  • Writing and Reviewing in game dialogue.
  • Detailing character backgrounds.
  • Proofing game material that goes to the public.
  • Working alongside the audio department directing VO talent.
  • Collaborating with license holders.
  • Writing scripts and screenplays for cutscenes and trailers.
  • Writing background for all live game updates.
  • Contributing to game design.

Requirements:

  • BA in liberal arts or work equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience developing stories, soup-to-nuts, for narrative heavy games.
  • Understanding of storytelling through gameplay experience.
  • Experience with game design tools.
  • Expert knowledge of DC comics and movies.
  • Professional writing experience (digital or paper).
  • Experience building narrative driven game content.

Ideal Candidate would also have:

  • Experience writing for comic book and/or superhero games.
  • Experience writing for MMO games.
  • Gameplay Experience with DCUO.
