About the role

We're looking for a Director of Strategy & Planning to lead and support transformational projects that improve the effectiveness and value capture across the Crunchyroll organization and support our mission to be the world's destination of choice for anime. Reporting to our VP of Strategic Planning, you will develop an understanding of Crunchyroll's company strategy, opportunities, and operational challenges and define appropriate solutions to address them. You will ensure that our goals and priorities are clear and consistent across teams - and that we are on the right trajectory to achieve those goals.

• You will understand Crunchyroll's overall company strategy, how it translates to our SVOD and flywheel businesses, and collaborate with team members to translate those insights into clear and actionable OKRs
• You will partner with team members to help drive the biannual OKRs process end-to-end and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) - ensuring communication, collaboration, and accountability
• You will support Finance in facilitating annual, mid-, and long-range strategic planning cycles, ensuring agreement on important planning assumptions, goals, and timing of key business drivers across OKRs, forecasts, and QBRs
• You will lead cross-functional teams to maintain communication primers and an integrated roadmap of key initiatives across our flywheel/Sony businesses to ensure understanding of goals and deliverables with all team members; manage monthly company-wide calendar with key business and operating beats and milestones
• You will collaborate with Research/Data Analytics teams and perform market, macroeconomic, internal, and competitive research to develop insightful market intelligence and consider strategic implications to our initiatives
• You will support the development and assessment of our commercial levers across multiple business lines. Develop rigorous, fact-based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations
• You will support management of Crunchyroll's membership program, evaluating subscriber benefits across several lines of business together with pricing and tiering strategy
• You will provide continuous coaching and training for junior members of the team

About You

• You have demonstrated expertise in partner and team member management, strategic planning, and program management, with experience achieving quantifiable results

• You are proficient in growth and business strategy formulation, data-driven decision-making, and business and organizational development
• You have a high level of intellectual curiosity that sparks communication, collaboration, and innovation; will look beyond surface requirements
• You excel at navigating dynamic environments and possess a talent for simplifying complex issues into practical solutions
• You can summarize complex ideas and develop compelling narratives
• Experience in media and entertainment or Direct-to-Consumer industries, and an MBA are highly desirable for this role

About the Team

The Strategy team collaborates with leaders throughout Crunchyroll to define our overall strategy, translate it into clear priorities and objectives, and consolidate it into a comprehensive strategic roadmap for SVOD and other related businesses. Additionally, we oversee the operational processes that facilitate business planning and reviews, ensuring that company priorities and objectives are well-defined, consistent, and actionable across all teams, thus ensuring that we are on track to achieve our goals.
