Position Description
The role of the Recreation Aide/Safety Coordinator is to contribute to a safe, supportive, and caring school community especially through the supervision of students during lunch and recess. Additionally, this role supports serving meals, parent communications, valet (student pick-up) and traffic supervision during After School hours.
Hours
9:00-5:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
Supervise students during their lunch and recess and ensure that they are exhibiting behaviors consistent with Equitas valuesSupervise students at other points throughout the school day as needed, such as transitions and restrooms Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic achievementActively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture Assist teachers during the school day with oversight and supervision of students Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition Maintain open lines of communication with staff, families, and other stakeholders Maintain consistent open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholdersSupervise valet (student drop off/pick-up)Maintain a safe and structured parking and valet systemAssist families and guests with alternative parking solutionsAssist School Operations Manager and after school with special projectsComplete other tasks as assigned by the Principal and School Operations Manager. Previous experience working with students preferred Bilingual Spanish speaker required High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or some college preferredCPR Certification and First Aid Certificate required within 60 days of hireCriminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB TestSalary and benefits
Starting at $20/hour. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
