Job Summary:

The VP, Business Systems Analysis & Product Management will be a member of the technology leadership team. Reporting to the CIO, the leader will envision and define product/business requirements for key products and work with business & technology functions to deliver solutions to increase efficiency of our business processes, build new system capabilities, and improve user experience. 

 

This role is responsible for all aspects of product life cycle management of EyeCare Partner's key systems including but not limited to practice management, EMR/EHR systems, and charged with driving continuous improvement of the systems by maintaining knowledge of market demand / technology trends, identifying and managing partners, and key stakeholders. Responsible for the competitor analysis, product roadmap, operational optimization, financial projections and recommendations and actions for improvement. This leader is the key liaison between technology team and various business functions such as operations, clinical, revenue cycle, contact center, merchandising, marketing and supply chain from product management perspective.

 

The leader may lead/assist and/or consult around the development and execution of annual operating plan, technology governance roadmap, financial management of operational and capital expenditures and sourcing management across technology team. As a member of the technology leadership team, the role will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise wide technology strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Manage, develop and mentor the team of technology product managers, business system analysts and UX designers by providing vision and role clarity, leadership, coaching, training and accountability to the team.
  • Lead the definition of vision, strategy and road maps for responsible technical products/systems
  • Act as the “voice of the customer” and “voice of the user” and provide a business perspective on value of the product roadmap and backlog
  • Partner with all internal departments to align & prioritize the long-term roadmap and short-term quarterly roadmaps
  • Understand and define the appropriate end-to-end process prior to embarking on product enhancements
  • Make informed but quick decisions on product's strategy and road maps and follow through with delivery
  • Ensure that the product team is creating and evangelizing end-to-end customer journeys for all current and future product offerings
  • Take a metrics and research-driven approach to product innovation and the product development life cycle
  • Use market research, user feedback, usage and competitive analysis to identify unmet business needs
  • Be the subject matter expert for the product/product line in order to make quick decisions and drive change
  • Accountable for elaborating/refining product requirements (via writing of EPICs and Stories) along with success/acceptance criteria, visual design at a detail level that can be consumed by the coders/developers
  • Accountable for grooming, refining, and prioritizing product backlog 
  • Partner effectively with engineering and project management groups to make scope tradeoff decisions
  • Develop talent to ensure bench strength for key roles
  • Manage key vendor partner relationships including contract negotiations, pricing & evaluation of current & potential partnerships
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree (MBA or MIS) preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience of leading team of business analysts or product managers
  • Experience managing a blended resource model that includes employees, managed services partners and on demand resources in global settings to deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience directly managing teams of business systems analysts, product managers, and UX designers
  • Ability to convincingly articulate complex analytical ideas in a simple way to a variety of key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success as a product owner, including effective management of a product roadmap to agile product backlog
  • Experience in enabling and implementing personalized interactions in physical and digital channels including call centers, retail or practice locations, email, SMS/text, web and mobile applications
  • Technical acumen to understand the use of customer data, back-end services, and technical operations
  • Demonstrated success in executing and directing product management activities in multiple business areas
