As the Sr. Commercial Product Manager, Ocean Forwarding, you will create cross border logistics products for clients who ship via their own Ocean contracts.  You pinpoint what is most important for clients and do not hesitate to try new things to make global trade easier.  You understand what it takes to design dependable logistics products that are easy to understand, flex based on market or seasonal challenges, provide a reliable and resilient network, and deliver reliably against expectations.

You are:

  • A Designer - You set a vision then plot your path to deliver against it -- you deliver value today while ensuring your products can flex and scale for the future
  • A Customer-Obsessed Athlete – You obsess over client needs while understanding market dynamics and historical insights.  You define products that exceed expectations, earn trust, and set the standards for what is great. You constantly look for ways to not only remove pain points for your customers, but offer them something better.
  • A Problem Solver – Challenges excite you! You see beyond constraints, developing solutions that achieve beyond what was once thought possible. Like a start-up pro, you’re prepared to wear many hats.
  • A Results-Oriented Leader – You are focused on understanding opportunities and using data to deliver results. You have commitment and energy to go above and beyond when needed.
  • A Self-Motivator - You don’t wait to be asked before taking initiative.  You navigate ambiguity successfully with limited guardrails in an ever-changing and often undefined environment.
  • A Calculated Risk Taker – You use data to make calculated decisions, adjusting as you learn and as situations change.

You should have:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in product management
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably Ocean Freight Forwarding (carrier booking management, allocation management, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in software preferred
  • Comfort in a startup like environment and can operate independently to build and execute new products
  • Love of data.  You use data to formulate a plan into a logical story anyone can follow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable speaking publicly to large audiences
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to manage up and drive consensus among stakeholders
  • An ability to deep dive customer needs, developing and delivering solutions (demos, collateral, value cases) that enable collaboration with  client-facing teams to drive product adoption.
