Our Internal Medicine office in New Tampa is seeking a full-time BILINGUAL Medical Receptionist. responsible for managing telephones calls for the department.  Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00AM-4PM.

*Bilingual & minimum 1 year experience required*

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Assists traffic on phones
    • Makes appointments
    • Takes messages
    • Assists with medication refill requests
    • Handles customer requests or needs
    • Assists vendors
    • Places phones on and off service at the appropriate times
    • Places a test call to ensure service is working after placing on service
    • Distributes messages from answering service or mail box to the appropriate person
    • Directs incoming faxes to correct staff members
    • Scanning
    • Addresses Intergy tasks in a timely manner
    • Enters referral information into the Practice Management System for referral tracking
    • Logs and files all diagnostic films
  • Forwarding Transcription and Clinical Data
    • Forwards provider correspondence and/or reports to referring providers
    • Works trans-review tasks forwarded from provider
    • Electronically forwards clinical data to referring FMC providers
    • Prints and forwards clinical data to non-FMC referring providers

 Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an organized and clean work area
  • Participates in maintenance of front office supplies
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Strong team player
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology
  • Minimum of one year experience in a similar role required
  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Bilingual required
  • Minimum 1 year experience required
