We are seeking a Full-time MRI/CT Technologist Float for our Radiology office in Wesley Chapel. This position is responsible for performing MRI exams within the department. Ability to work independently, Assist other technologist during downtime, Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior at all times, and good IV skills are required. Candidate must be willing to rotate to other facilities to cover vacation and call-ins. Candidates should have at least 4 year of related experience and a valid ARRT & FL R.T. license.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Assure exams are performed in a timely manner
  • Review schedules for patient appointment times
  • Ensure encounter and prescription with diagnosis is correct before performing the exam
  • Interview patient and obtain history
  • Start IVs on patients and inject contrast with minimum discomfort
  • Maintain machine performance and assure quality control tests are done regularly 
  • Keep records of injections, patients sedated, machine operations, phantom tests, and cryogen values
  • Organize and maintain sample and supply closets
  • Perform incidental duties as needed
  • Willing to cover at other office locations as business needs warrant 

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • High school graduate, completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training from an AMA approved school, ARRT, CT and MRI Certification or registry eligible, current CPR card.
  • ARRT, CT and MRI Certifications
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI procedures
  • Strong team player
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of PACS systems helpful
  • Four years of experience in a similar role required

Physical and Mental Demands:

 

  • Physical ability: may require some bending, lifting, and/or assistance to patients as well as long periods of sitting.
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making.
  • High level of verbal and written communication.
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Occupational Exposure:

 

  • Moderate risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
