The Pathology Lab in New Tampa is seeking an experienced Pathology Grosser to fill a PART-TIME opportunity. Primary duties would include examination of specimens and dictating an accurate description of each as described in the Grossing Manual. Candidates must meet CLIA requirements for high competency testing and have at least two years of experience in grossing pathology specimens.  An associate degree (AS) in science is preferred.

 Keys to Success in this Role:. 

• Thorough examination of specimens, following established protocol
• Maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Perform quality control duties 
• Post charges
• Operate and utilize all computer systems efficiently, including Intergy and Citrix
• Perform additional duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Science fields preferred
• Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge required
• Strong customer service orientation
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Strong computer proficiency
• Strong team player
• Must meet the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments requirements for High Complexity Testing
• Two years of experience in grossing pathology specimens

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
• Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Occupational Exposure:

• High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
