Job Title:                    Medical Receptionist

Reports to:                 Office Supervisor

Department:               Primary Care

Job Description:        Our Primary Care office in Land O'Lakes is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist . This role is responsible for the management of all traffic at the front window, the check in and check out process of the patient visit. Must have understanding of the insurance verification process and billing, able to multitask and be efficient with time management. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM.

Keys to Success in this Role: Candidate must have experience in a medical setting, Primary Care Office and posting charges.

  • Able to process charges
  • Medical Billing experience
  • Prepare e-charts prior to appointment
  • Assist traffic at the front window
  • Collect and process monies due
  • Address tasks in a timely manner
  • Process medical record releases
  • Assist traffic on the phones
  • Assist providers and patients at the conclusion of the visit

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Occupational Exposure:

  • Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards 

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Strong team player
  • Basic computer proficiency
