About Foodstuffs:
Working for Foodstuffs you get to be part of the country's largest grocery retailer who’re proud of being a homegrown Co-op and feel privileged to serve New Zealand.

Foodies is an organisation that 24,000 kiwis are proud to be part of.  We care about our customers and we care about our people. We’re New Zealand’s largest apprentice trainer of butchers and joining our team would see you contributing to the strong future pipeline of butchers for the Co-op.

About the Role:
Foodies has approximately 200 apprentice Butchers.  In the upper North Island we currently have a strong steward in this role who is heading to retirement and will leave big shoes to fill.  We’re ideally looking for a person who can work part-time through the rest of 2024 and take over full-time in 2025.

As a Butchery Training Manager you’ll be responsible for supporting our apprentices in stores starting with signing them into their training agreements then ensuring they set goals, achieve unit standards, attend workshops and keep on track with on job requirements.  Your strong coaching and influencing skills will help with this.

The internal relationships you’ll need build and nurture include:
·         Our Apprentices
·         Owner Operators & Butchery Managers of our PAK’nSAVE and New World stores
·         Foodies Retail Specialists
·         The other Training Managers & Learning Team
·         Skills4Work (our PTE partner)

There is required travel for this role and a lot of away from home time.  Hours of work are less structed as they’ll flex around store busy times and the workshop delivery needs.  However, we support flexible working at Foodies so you can make that work for you.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who is ideally a fully trained butcher and can demonstrate passion for the trade, a history of engaging with industry competitions and has a strong desire to help build the future pipeline of butchering excellence at Foodstuffs.  To be successful in this role you’ll need to be self-motivated, independent and collaborative with others and experienced in stakeholder management.

The role will require travel therefore flexibility is key! We are happy to consider any applications in the Auckland and Upper North Island regions.

In return, we offer a competitive salary package including a discount at our supermarkets, subsidised health insurance, flexible working, free parking, participation in the company superannuation fund, birthday leave and long service leave! We also offer lots of learning and development opportunities.  And a sincere welcome to bring your whole self to work as we recognise and celebrate diversity at Foodies.

A tool of trade vehicle will be included in the full-time package.
