A bit about us:
Foodstuffs Own brands is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated organisation, owned by the two Foodstuffs regional co-operatives. Foodstuffs Own Brands is the business responsible for product development, sourcing, and quality control on private label products exclusively for the Foodstuffs retail and wholesale banners nationally. We own several brands, the most iconic of which is the much loved Pams brand which holds the title of New Zealand’s leading grocery brand. Our brands have been such a big part of the kitchens, dinner tables and homes of New Zealanders for over 85 years. From our humble beginnings when we supplied just Pams baking and custard powder, we now boast a range of over 3000 products with everything from baking to butchery, to fresh produce and grocery. We aim to inspire New Zealanders with affordable, high quality, innovative products that are supported by simple yet delicious recipes, mealtime solution and household tips.
 
A bit about the role’s day to day:
Highly effective and customer centred packaging is a critical function of our team and we’re looking for a passionate packaging leader, to join us as our Packaging Manager.  As our Packaging Manager you’ll report to our Head of Brand and Communications to nurture, evolve and protect the presence of our Pams products at the shelf edge. 
 
Your core focus will be narrow, and your talents will be diverse.  You’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end process and workflow of packaging design and packaging production for all our product packaging needs. From reviewing briefs, writing pack copy, working with our design agency partner and right through to inhouse leadership of artworking and proof.  To optimise our team and ensure efficiency, it would be advantageous if you could jump on the production tools when workloads peak. 
 
Alongside this, you’ll be an internal advocate of Pams – championing the brand’s core values and ability to drive shopper loyalty through pure brand love.  A must… you’ll love food.

·       A designer at heart with exceptional creative judgement and time management.
·       Highly consultative, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to move freely between different groups of people with personal confidence that should be based on a high level of competence.
·       An open, positive, engaging approach with the ability to relate to stakeholders at all levels.
·       High standard of personal work ethic and time management skills.
·       Sense of urgency and the initiative to manage issues quickly but without compromising quality of the output.
·       Ability to look for ways to continuously challenge the status quo and improve the business across all areas.
·       Deep understanding of grocery product and category heuristics: ensuring relevant product development in line with brand architecture.
