Foodstuffs Own brands is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated organisation, owned by the two Foodstuffs regional co-operatives. Foodstuffs Own Brands is the business responsible for product development, sourcing, and quality control on private label products exclusively for the Foodstuffs retail and wholesale banners nationally. We own several brands, the most iconic of which is the much-loved Pams brand which holds the title of New Zealand’s leading grocery brand. Our brands have been such a big part of the kitchens, dinner tables and homes of New Zealanders for over 80 years. From our humble beginnings when we supplied just Pams baking and custard powder, we now boast a range of over 3000 products with everything from baking to butchery, to fresh produce and grocery. We aim to inspire New Zealanders with affordable, high quality, innovative products that are supported by simple yet delicious recipes, mealtime solution and household tips.
Te Tūranga – About the role
As a Product Assistant within the Own Brands team, you will play a key role in supporting Product Managers with daily operations, including setting up new suppliers and managing vendor changes. You’ll coordinate blender setup, barcode allocation, and publishing in GS1, while also processing and communicating price changes and product deletions across regions. Your responsibilities will include assisting with product templates and customer service documentation, liaising with suppliers on new product development and product-related issues, managing artwork updates and packaging changes, and facilitating product sample reviews and livery updates to ensure smooth transitions and high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative and coordination skills, paired with excellent communication and a keen attention to detail. You’ll be adept at managing multiple tasks and timelines efficiently, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Experience in FMCG or product-related roles and computer-based market information and retail management systems would be awesome!
