We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and passionate safety and wellbeing specialist to make their mark and lead our safety program at our Distribution Centre (DC) based in Māngere.  
 
Working as a trusted Senior Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you will be instrumental in leading the DC with safety systems and building a proactive and positive safety culture. You will lead new initiatives and innovations that seamlessly integrate health and safety into everyday business to keep our people safe.
 
What you’ll do
·         Support the development of the Foodstuffs North Island Safety and Wellbeing strategy and implement in the DC
·         Manage internal and external audits (e.g. ACC, Worksafe, Hazardous Substances etc) and be the focal point to ensure corrective actions are closed in a timely manner
·         Coach, mentor, support and upskill DC team members, line managers and stakeholders in the management of hazards, incidents and corrective actions within our health and safety management system, using our online tool
·         Provide oversight and guidance for incident and accident investigations, supporting the investigations process and assigning of meaningful controls to appropriate team members
·         Fostering a positive safety culture, encouraging team members to become actively engaged in safety and wellbeing activities
 
What you’ll need
·         Strong experience in a Health and Safety leadership role preferably FMCG, Manufacturing and or Supply Chain
·         Sound understanding of New Zealand ACC and health and safety legislation and regulations and application of the same.
·         Thorough understanding in conducting incident investigation, risk assessments and involvement in workplace audits.
·         Experience in working with safety systems - ACC (AEP/WSMP) or similar and or auditing to an in internal safety management standard.
·         You will not be a boring cardigan wearing safety ‘officer’, but a friendly approachable –go getter who is passionate about making our workplace safer for all those who have contact with our Distribution Centres.
