The role
 
A technical expert, you’ll partner across the business - proactively identifying both risks and opportunities as you lead ongoing compliance activity and work with the Tax & Fixed Assets Manager to deliver technological and process improvements to drive efficiency, effectiveness and service with core responsibilities in:
 
· Providing everyday oversight of all tax compliance activities across the team and first level of review and training for the work undertaken in the accounting team.
· Continually reviewing the Group’s compliance position, ensuring any risks are clearly understood and actions are in place to mitigate risks.
· Providing reporting and forecasting capabilities to improve tax performance and mitigate surprises for the business.
 
About you
 
You’ll have a few years of tax compliance experience behind you, ideally from large and complex environments and be confident in building effective relationships across the business, collaborating with others and clearly articulating ideas/concepts.
 
Key to your success in the role will also see you;
 
· Have a solid technical knowledge and practical experience with NZ tax legislation.
· Be technology savvy - comfortable in handling large data logically
· Constantly looking at what can be improved and what is possible
