About the role  
 
As a Solution Architect, you will be working in a future-focused team responsible for developing robust, forward-thinking products and services to our customers – and significant value to the Foodstuffs North Island cooperative.  
 
Working closely with the Product people, UX, delivery and enterprise architecture teams, you will lead the creation of solutions that enable positive retail customer experiences that eloquently balance people, processes, and technology to achieve this.   Ultimately, your work will drive our business into the future, significantly enabling rapid and agile change across our digital retail customer facing and store operational landscape. 
 

A few key points and responsibilities of this role include:
-        You will be recognised as a retail expert in how strategy flows to execution how business and technology retail domain concerns transfer into the solution development process so that the strategic intent is preserved.
-        Ensure that business and IT stakeholder expectations are well supported, and that their concerns are reflected in the work produced
-        Working with the architecture platform owners, contribute to and elaborate on the future-state platform vision of Foodstuffs’ retail customer architecture landscape
 
You will map out the elements of the digital customer journey to the latest technology and create outstanding digital solutions which shine in terms of scalability, cost, and simplicity. 
 
About you 
 
Combining technical skills with the ability to partner across the business, you’ll bring a strong solution architecture background with retail experience so that you can hit the ground running. Interacting with ease across the business, you’ll bring those around you on the journey, telling stories in a language that is understood, all the while dealing with significant levels of underlying complexity. 
 
Some of the keys to your success will also include: 
 
-        Strong technological leadership, skills and experience
-        Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, examining and evaluating issues and creating plans with a long-term perspective. 
-        Experience as a tech lead, software architect, application architect or other development leadership role with architecture and design experience. 
-        Strong modelling and diagramming skills. 
-        Being recognised as a thought leader with responsibility and ownership for major technology strategies that have resulted in significant organisational change, and/or you have led a technical delivery team with successful outcomes
-        Experience in exposing data and operations through APIs and RESTful services.
-        Strong skills and experience in solution designs using modern technologies (e.g. Data Streaming, Kafka, Kinesis or Apache Spark) and with data at scale. 
-        Familiarity with the technology used in our platform standards (Java, .Net Core, Node.JS, React). 
-        Excellent planning and communication skills – both written and verbal; and be able to tell a story to non-technical audiences - clearly articulating ideas/concepts and value, and effectively present this to others.
-       A solid understanding of related areas including customer marketing, loyalty, campaign management and customer analytics, real time processing.

An added bonus: 

-        Certification in a recognised architecture framework – TOGAF, ITAC, IBM AD 2.0, CapGemini IAF or similar would be beneficial
