Girls Who Code is seeking a full-time Events Manager to drive planning and execution of critical programmatic engagements and events. The Events Manager will work directly with the Vice President, Programs and will be an integral part of ensuring the successful production of events in service of furthering Girls Who Code’s mission to empower young women to pursue Computer Science.
Note: This position is temporarily remote, but will be based in NYC after we re-enter the workplace.
Responsibilities: Strategic Events Management
Lead the planning and execution of of regional events, program graduations and virtual, in-person, and hybrid engagements for our K-12 and Workforce ProgramsServe as primary project manager and engage internal staff in collaboration and event supportWork with K-12, Workforce, and Development teams to scope out partner benefits and design events that meet both the needs of partners and the organizationBuild annual events roadmap and timeline to ensure fuller transparency of events schedule and to minimize any gaps with programmingWork with Vice President, Programs to set budget and track expenses for each eventPitch new events based on criteria including: stakeholder feedback, exposure to CS content and connections and increased brand awareness for the organizationResponsibilities: Events Operations
Serve as the primary point of contact for overall partner event logistics, including day-of support Create guides and other resources (i.e. toolkits, handbook, one-pagers, how-tos, webinars) to support partners, students, and other stakeholders in the planning or preparation of their eventWork with partners, speakers, and panelists to understand specific tech needs and set expectations and norms regarding Girls Who Code eventsCreate key messaging to provide additional event details to students, facilitators, and other key stakeholdersCreate Run of show and other production materials that support successful GWC and partner-branded eventsLead and execute all events rehearsals and tech checks to ensure partners and speakers are prepared for eventResponsibilities: Relationship Management
Collaborate with teams to support execution of strategies to meet the increased demand for a dynamic and engaging event experience Collaborate with members of Marketing and Communication, K-12, and Workforce Programs teams to plan social media and other communications strategies to increase event awarenessQualifications:
