YOUR MISSION

As Category Management Manager – RO, you will lead the strategy and execution of category excellence across Glovo’s grocery and retail partners in Romania. You will shape our category playbook, elevate the catalog experience, and partner with key stakeholders to ensure our assortment is competitive, optimized, and drives growth. While you won’t own direct control of stock or pricing, your mission will be to influence partners through data-driven insights, category strategy, and best practices, acting as the key expert in shaping the end-to-end customer experience.

THE JOURNEY

  • Build and drive the category strategy across grocery and retail, ensuring relevance, completeness, and commercial competitiveness of our partner catalogs.
  • Lead category performance deep dives (e.g., AOV, conversion, search gaps) and turn them into actionable recommendations for partner teams.
  • Partner with Strategic Account Managers and Partner Consultants to influence top partners on assortment, taxonomy, and content improvements based on data and customer insights.
  • Own the development and maintenance of the category tree and navigation logic across partner stores, driving discoverability and consistency.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce null search results, benchmark competitor assortments, and identify white spaces or underperforming categories.
  • Create and implement scalable playbooks and toolkits for improving catalog quality (e.g., images, descriptions, categorization).
  • Collaborate with Brand Ads teams to support campaign execution, promotional visibility, and partner monetization strategies.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for category health across the cluster and be a key voice in strategic discussions with internal stakeholders (e.g., Q-Commerce, Ads).
  • Identify and share seasonal trends, market insights, and shopper behavior data to help partners localize and adapt their offerings.
  • Coach and mentor Category Analysts, while driving alignment with global grocery & retail excellence initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG, ideally in environments where influence was more critical than control.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and commercial logic to drive category growth and improve customer experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internal cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you know how to turn data into compelling narratives.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and fast-paced environments — you can set structure where there isn’t any yet.
  • Familiarity with digital merchandising, catalog tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Looker) is a plus.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Gritty, collaborative, and impact-driven mindset — you own your scope and strive to leave things better than you found them.
