In this senior individual contributor role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing our global integration strategy across the HR technology landscape. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between Workday and a range of internal and external systems that power our People operations globally.

As a Staff People Technology Technical Specialist, you will serve as the go-to expert for complex integration architecture, data flow design, and technical troubleshooting. Your deep technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities will be essential to ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient data exchange between HR systems (like payroll, time tracking, benefits, and identity platforms) and other business-critical platforms.

This is a hands-on, highly autonomous role that combines technical excellence with strategic influence. You’ll be trusted to lead the delivery of critical integration projects, support Workday enhancement initiatives, and act as a technical advisor to internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, IT, Legal, and external vendors.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable and future-proof integration solutions. You’ll also help define and champion best practices in development, testing, and monitoring, with a strong focus on data integrity, performance, and compliance (including GDPR).

As one of the most senior technical experts in our People Technology team, you will play a key role in driving innovation and continuous improvement, helping us mature our integration ecosystem as we grow and evolve globally.

You will...

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday integrations, including EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), Web Services (REST/SOAP), Workday Studio, and third-party system integrations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and other HR systems, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient data exchange.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors to understand integration needs and translate them into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices for integration development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Lead the technical delivery of complex integration projects, including system upgrades, new platform integrations, and large-scale data migrations.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between Workday and systems like payroll, time tracking, benefits, and other HR technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical integration issues efficiently, maintaining business continuity and data integrity.
  • Ensure all integrations comply with security standards, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and company policies.
  • Continuously optimize integration processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall system performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including workflows, troubleshooting guides, and support materials.
  • Act as a technical thought partner within the People Technology function, contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

You Have...

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining integrations, particularly with Workday and related HR technologies.
  • Deep expertise in Workday integration tools such as EIBs, Workday Studio, Web Services (REST/SOAP), and Core Connectors.
  • Strong knowledge of integration protocols (e.g., XML, JSON, SFTP, FTP) and middleware tools or platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering complex integration projects end-to-end, ensuring they meet both technical and business requirements.
  • Solid understanding of HR business processes and their impact on data integration—especially in areas like payroll, time tracking, absence management, and benefits.
  • Familiarity with system architecture, APIs, and data security best practices, including GDPR and compliance-related requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a high level of independence and ownership.
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis and troubleshooting.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

You’ll get…

  • Competitive salary, 401k with company match that vests immediately upon participation, and company equity plan based on role
  • Generous PTO, including sabbatical, and parental leave of up to 16 weeks
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits with options at $0 monthly, effective first day of employment

  • Access to 7 different Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) including those for BIPOC, women, veterans, parents, and LGBTQ+
  • Inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment within a fast-paced, mission-driven company that is disrupting the traditional food supply chain
