The team
Hitachi Vantara is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer to join our product development team. We are working to upgrade the company’s management platform. The candidate will primarily focus on the development and maintenance of client-side logic and support systems to enable a responsive, coherent, and pleasant user experience. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of UI design principles and be able to bring our wireframes to life single-handedly and as part of an international development team. This individual will be an integral part of the team and will work closely with product engineering teams, product management, and sales teams to gather requirements.
What you’ll bring
• 7+ years of software development work experience
• BS in computer engineering or related discipline
• Strong in JavaScript, React.js, redux, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experienced Full stack web developer, strong preference for Python with Django Rest Framework
• Experienced in designing RESTful web services
• Experience working in ORM framework such as Django ORM or SQL Alchemy
• Knowledgeable in modern web application design principals
• Experience designing and maintaining databases
• Experienced in constructing and ingesting XML and JSON
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
• Experience building portable code, react native in particular
• Super strong AWS solution design and deployment in production environments at scale
• Ability to work within an agile software development team
• Knowledge of application servers such as Apache, node.js, nginx, etc.
• Familiarity with working in Linux
Key job functions include :
• Design and execute project plans
• Maintain source code
• Create reusable code libraries
• Participate in API definition and development
• Create POC web applications alone
• Gather and refine requirements
• Participate in meetings with offshore development teams
• Perform basic server administration and setup when needed
