The Director, Accounting Transformation will lead the Accounting organization through the transformation required to support our operations at scale on our journey toward being public company ready. This role will partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to globally drive change, leveraging best practices in project management, business process capabilities, digital transformation technologies, internal control design experience and operational knowledge. He/She will identify and prioritize transformation opportunities, communicating the value proposition of these initiatives to enable teams to shift their focus toward high value activities. This role will report directly to Chief Accounting Officer.

He/She will motivate cross functional partners to embrace changes needed to scale our operations. He/She will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop execution strategies and measure the impact of these transformation activities. A masterful communicator and influencer as well as an out of the box thinker, the individual in this role will be a highly visible and strategic member of the Accounting Leadership team. #LI-RS1

What you will do:

  • Partner with finance leadership to drive the vision, prioritization and execution of transformational efforts through business process improvements and systems implementation in order to support public company readiness and business growth.
  • Lead development of continuous improvement programs including implementation, and maintenance of global processes, systems, controls, and policies for the accounting organization.
  • Develop and maintain transformation roadmap for key projects, outlining the issues, targeted goals and timeline for completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, ensure milestones are completed timely and status/risks are communicated to key stakeholders
  • Partner with IT to evaluate and help implement digital technologies that improve operational effectiveness across finance processes.
  • Partner with Business Systems team and Finance SMEs to evaluate the health of our finance related systems, identify gaps and work with key stakeholders to develop solutions for remediation.
  • Develop KPIs and other metrics to evaluate value of projects and measure success.
  • Partner with functional leads to document key accounting policies and efficient operational processes with a focus on standardization across geographies, leveraging industry best practices.
  • Assist in the development of a long term strategy for development of internal controls and implementation of SOX.
  • Coordinate and oversee third party service providers, ensuring accountability for critical deliverables.
  • Prepare presentations to Project Teams and Finance Leadership on the status of key projects and roadmaps as needed.
  • What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience working in Accounting and Finance organizations at a high growth multinational publicly traded company (pre-IPO experience a plus.).
  • Demonstrated success leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of a variety of finance technologies including Netsuite, Concur, etc
  • Deep understanding of best practices in key operational accounting processes including Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Lead to Cash, Hire to Retire, etc.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of financial systems.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation and expertise in internal controls.
  • Experience with Business Process Improvement methodologies (Six Sigma or equivalent).
  • Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and be a champion of change
  • Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, with a process orientation
  • High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance
  • Passionate and persistent about operational excellence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, active listener, tailors communication to the audience
  • Problem solving and decision-making capacity in a high growth environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
