The Designer Drafter - CAD will report to the Engineering Systems Manager and work onsite in Liverpool, NY.
Responsibilities:
Create parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks, and other documentation types in MS OfficeExecute model, drawing, and documentation changes per approved ECRsConvert engineering files into usable formats for production (.pdf, .dxf, .stp, etc)Create Items and assign part numbers in Propel PLMAttach controlled documents to Items in Propel PLMEnter Bills of Materials and publish ECOs in Propel PLManage configuration of Solidworks, Draftsight, PDM, MasterCAM, and TruTopsManage PDM task serversMake recommendations to IT related to client workstation requirementsExecute system upgrades in relevant toolsManage relationships with software providers and order/renew licensesImplement enhancements to custom properties, variables, datacards, workflows, etc in PDMDevelop and implement Solidworks VBA MacrosDevelop and implement PDM Add-ins and TasksEnhance integrations between relevant systemsAudit engineering data for completeness and accuracyAudit engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance to standardsMaintain uptime and improve efficiency of CAD, PDM, and CAM systemsCreate clear part and assembly drawings and CAD models compliant to JMA Drafting Standards and modeling best practicesUpdate CAD models and drawings based on approved ECRsWork with Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Designer Drafters to support development projectsCreate and maintain CAD and PDM data accurately per JMA proceduresRelease Items into PLM system accurately and on-time per JMA Release ProcessComply with ISO StandardsQualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related area and 2+ years of experience, or an associate’s degree in a related area and 4+ years of experience, or 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.Experience with use and administration of Solidworks and PDM Pro software requiredSome familiarity with Add-in development or VBA coding requiredExperience with Microsoft Office requiredHave a bias towards learning and bias for actionBe creative and possess exceptional organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skillsExperience with configuration management or document control preferredExpert in Solidworks 3D CAD softwareExpert in SolidWorks PDM Pro use and administrationFamiliarity with PLM software, Propel preferredFamiliarity with 2D CAD software, Draftsight preferredFamiliarity with CAM software, MasterCAM and TruTops preferredFamiliarity with ERP software, SAP preferred
