Position Overview:

JMA is in search of a dynamic and seasoned Director of Systems Engineering to join our expanding team. As the System Engineering Director at JMA, you'll serve as a frontline expert in our product offerings, interfacing directly with customers. Leveraging your extensive experience in wireless engineering, you'll educate both your engineering team and JMA's customers on our diverse product portfolio, with the aim of crafting industry-leading networks. The supported product portfolio includes:

- Distributed Antenna Systems
- Baseband and radio products
- Private Networks
- Digital electricity
- Antennas
- 50-ohm connectors

Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation and excellence in network solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Foster and uphold customer trust and confidence within a competitive landscape.
  • Provide strong System Engineering leadership and technical guidance to both the team and JMA's customer base.
  • Offer competitive analysis as necessary on JMA and its rivals.
  • Lead and motivate a team of adept systems engineers, while actively recruiting and nurturing top talent.
  • Spearhead the design and development of large-scale communication systems for venues such as airports and stadiums.
  • Foster close collaboration with cross-functional engineering leads and senior management.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Architecture team and product team to formulate system requirements and platform architecture.
  • Direct technical activities essential for characterizing, verifying, and validating system design and performance.
  • Collaborate with External System Prime and customer teams to identify, develop, and document key Segment requirements and interface documents.
  • Deliver professional technical presentations on JMA products and design solutions via webinars, group meetings, or other mediums.
  • Provide onsite and phone technical support as needed.
  • Develop comprehensive bills of material for customer projects.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives.
  • Develop project plans, monitor progress, and mobilize resources to fulfill commitments.
  • Actively manage JMA relationships during construction while overseeing contractors.
  • Review project contracts and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Provide weekly reports on all projects and take necessary actions on each project
  • Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Networks Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as DAS OEM systems/Sales engineer. 
  • 10+ years of application experience with distributed antenna systems “OEM, Design Implementation and performance” and public safety RF networks 
  • End-to-end system optimization for LTE, 5G NR Networks. Experience with PS networks is a plus.
  • Designing and testing optical networks, including WDM, CWDM, and DWDM.
  • Utilizing spectrum analyzers to interpret and evaluate results effectively.
  • Analyzing cable PIM and sweep test results proficiently.
  • Developing comprehensive downlink and uplink link budgets.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of 4G and 5G NR radio access network operation, performance, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS administration; RHCE certification is advantageous.
  • Strong command of verbal and written English communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Experience with iBwave In-Building Design and Atoll Software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC) and telecommunications installation best practices is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%+ of the time.
