The R&D E2E System Project Manager will manage cross functional teams to bring new products and incremental product releases through the JMA End to End product development process.  The R&D E2E System Project Manager will manage system level R&D product initiatives from inception through delivery.  Projects consist of new System Software releases, third party product integrations and interop events.  The R&D E2E System Project Manager will also provide project management support to one or more Software project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage JMA End to End product development process for new System level product releases.
  • Manage application teams through the software development lifecycle
  • Manage other R&D projects such as third party product integrations and interop initiatives
  • Work with globally distributed teams
  • Work with Product Management to capture features/requirements for analysis
  • Work with Product Management and team leads to build the product backlog
  • Facilitate release planning through the analysis and estimation of product backlog items
  • Develop a project plan covering feature scope, resources, milestones and timeline
  • Facilitate regular product level team scrums
  • Ensure application development teams are aligned with project goals
  • Engage downstream teams such as documentation, NPI, training, solutions and field engineering to facilitate their readiness to commercialize product releases
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate the development of JMA E2E process gate materials and approvals
  • Establish and maintain project tracking dashboards and KPIs
  • Publish weekly project reports to provide appropriate level of project status for stakeholders
  • Maintain project metrics and utilize to improve planning and predictability of projects
  • Standardize and keep track of project processes including but not limited to documentation, risk management, change control
  • Accountable and responsible that the teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
  • Assist with development and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, and standards
  • Contribute process improvements to the JMA development and management processes
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires 6+ years of project management experience developing telecommunications and software products
  • PMP certification
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Project Management
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle
  • Expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit the project and environment
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project planning tools
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent communications, written, and oral skills. Skilled in developing, cultivating, and maintaining internal and external working relationships
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing software products deployed in cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and development within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Scrum Master CSM (Scrum Alliance), DA Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (PMI) certification and/or SAFe Agile Certification
