ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

JUUL Labs is seeking a Sales Director for its rapidly scaling Chain Accounts Business. This role will be a Leader on our Chain Accounts sales team and work closely with our large national retailers. Must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs, as well as the retail environment. Must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of sales and marketing principles.

MUST HAVE TOBACCO EXPERIENCE IN 7-11

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of Key Account Managers in the assigned territory through a combination of maintaining regular call frequency to elevate rate of sale in 7-11/Speedway. 
  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing and Category Leadership team to develop custom Chain Retail Programming to drive rate of sale and incremental product placement within Region territory.
  • Effectively communicate with internal departments, partner distributors, & retail customers to develop & execute sales strategy.
  • Routine management of sales execution and category leadership with all partner distributors and chain retail accounts.
  • Develop and deliver successful retail programming partnerships that maximize ROI sales budget management in mind.
  • Work across internal departments to resolve any customer issues.
  • Supporting the on-boarding of customers under a RACS complaint POS system built to support Youth Prevention by incorporating ID scanning for age-gated products and preventing bulk purchase transactions
  • Driving the implementation, and onboarding of any self-distributing retailers under a Track and Trace program



PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of multidisciplinary management experience, including direct experience in managing regional and national key account teams in a related CPG industry
  • Experience building and leading teams responsible for delivering across multiple projects/initiatives
  • Deep functional understanding spanning finance, sales, product, marketing, supply chain, e-commerce, and regulatory/legal
  • Proven sales leadership ability with advanced business development skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. In addition to Region VP and Directors, communication to internal and external sales teams is critical to success in this role.
  • Analytical working knowledge using IRI and Nielsen to provide retail customers with fact-based category insights to elevate sales leadership position.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly self-motivated, results oriented, and ability to drive category leadership sales execution.
  • Exceptional verbal presentation and written communication skills; ability to appropriately share information and ideas with various groups (i.e., partners, colleagues, senior management)
  • Proven ability to recognize industry change, develop an understanding of long-term implications, and deliver recommended strategies for new business opportunities
  • High degree of organization and experience managing multiple teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with many different internal and external constituencies
  • Flexibility and ability to manage and excel in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
  • Bonus: experience or expertise in the CPG industry
  • Bonus: working knowledge of regulated substances and/or nicotine regulatory environment

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA and/or advanced degree in a quant-heavy focus
