About the Role:

Our People team is called the Krakenite Experience (KX) team, and we aim to become a world leader in People Experience. Working with the world's top talent, our diverse and forward‐thinking team is spread across 60+ countries. 
In this role you will support our global People Operations team by being our in-house expert and owner of all visa/immigration processing, programs, and policies, In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all new hire paperwork is accurately administered and maintained.  The ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic, detail oriented go-getter who is excited to tackle the challenges facing our global HR operations team! 

Visa & Immigration Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert level support to our Visa/Immigration needs and proactively identify ways to streamline and standardize immigration processes
  • Work with internal counsel and external immigration counsel to ensure compliance with immigration laws
  • Respond to all immigration questions, review issues and Krakenite concerns, and provide counsel and education in regards to immigration guidelines, legal requirements, and procedures
  • Complete applications and supporting documents for submission to government agencies for work authorization and employment visas in a timely and organized manner
  • Ensure organization, quality control, data input, and general maintenance of all immigration compliance records and required postings
  • Prepare and maintain all immigration-related correspondence and documents 
  • Support the HR and Talent Acquisition teams by coordinating and processing visa applications in a timely manner
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of general employment law and compliance requirements 

  • HR Generalist Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Legal, the Recruiting and Onboarding team to ensure all contracts, offers, and required policies are accurate, up-to-date, and securely stored 
  • Own and maintain the processing of all background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Verify new hire identity and establish secure communication channel as per Kraken’s security protocol
  • Perform routine tasks associated with onboarding new hires (i.e. tax forms, I9, and other forms as required by Revenue and Labor authorities)
  • Professionally handle HR-related inquiries as assigned within our HR Service Desk
  • Assist with upkeep, maintenance, and communication on policies and practices to maintain compliance as assigned
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • 5 years of Human Resources experience with at least 2 years employment-based immigration experience 
  • Knowledge of international employment-related laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in a remote, globally distributed team in a fast-paced high-growth environment strongly preferred
  • Experience at a technology company or highly successful start-up strongly preferred
  • Proactive problem solver and disciplined self-starter that thrives in an ambiguous environment with ever-changing priorities 
  • Appreciates privacy, security, “crypto values”, sound money, and can get along well with other Krakenites 
  • Passion for cryptocurrency adoption and personal experience with crypto strongly preferred
