About the Role
This is a fully remote role, we will consider applicants based in the Americas.
Kraken. is expanding our rapidly growing compliance team of talented and motivated individuals. We are looking for a capable compliance associate to join the team of motivated financial/technology professionals and work with our teams worldwide, and be part of the expert global compliance group. This role will be responsible for a critical aspect of supporting our Director of Compliance in the compliance organisation and working alongside the brightest minds in the crypto industry.
This position will be a cornerstone of the Compliance team in order to efficiently and effectively promote fluid communication. 
The ideal candidate is data-driven, process oriented, technically adept, highly organised, meticulous, has a proven track record of achievement and is ready to have some fun within the Kraken Family. Responsibilities include driving various teams' business and operational activities, supporting leadership, and resolving potential issues before they arise.  The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-fly.
Candidates must possess the ability and willingness to balance leadership needs with business priorities and articulate the rationale behind decisions. They must also have exceptional project management and presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Compliance to ensure the Global Compliance team is running efficiently.
  • Exercise excellent judgment, can be trusted with privileged information, and have the ability to be attentive to every detail.
  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the Director's of Compliance ability to make sure that the Compliance organisation is effectively functioning.
  • Assist with special projects; designing and producing complex documents, reports, and presentations; collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff and outside parties; composing and preparing correspondence; maintaining contact lists; making travel arrangements; assisting with budget details (including completing expense reports).
  • Work closely with the Director of Compliance to keep the team well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
  • Anticipate the Director of Compliance's needs in advance of meetings, conferences, etc. 
  • Managing and organising the all hands meetings and team events, supporting communication related tasks.
  • Performing a "gatekeeper" and "gateway" role, providing a bridge for smooth communication between the Director of Compliance and staff, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with the Compliance leadership team. 
  • Complete projects by assigning work to appropriate staff on behalf of the Director of Compliance.
  • Liaise with business partners across the company to ensure consistent and timely execution and delivery on various initiatives.
  • Closely manage the Director of Compliance's calendar to be the most efficient in their day-to-day, build meeting agendas and execute administrative tasks.
  • Assist in building out best practices for operational excellence, organise trainings, schedule team meetings and work with Compliance Training manager to organise events.
  • Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in project-based roles for a technology/financial services/payment provider growth company or similarly fast paced environment, people management experience.
  • Very Organised, meticulous, detail- oriented person.
  • Great sense of humour and easy- going personality as well as hard worker and reliable.
  • Strong Power Point presentation skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience working with Senior leaders within the management team.
  • Demonstrate a positive outlook while interacting with all levels of employees.
  • Natural talent to effortlessly improve a process and the uncanny ability to bring order out of chaos, as well as remaining calm during periods of disorganisation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as it relates to upcoming staffing changes, product development, and non-public information, with a particular emphasis on digital privacy and security.
  • Concise speaker, storyteller, and writer: you can slice, dice, and distill a narrative from a complex data set into a clear and effective summary.
  • Strong sense of urgency when projects are assigned.
  • The ability to complete a task quickly, while anticipating the need to plan for another project in short succession.
  • Efficient, self sufficient, and accessible 24/7 to the Director of Compliance.
  • Interest in Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency or Blockchain is highly preferred.
