Director, Logistics and Mail

The Partner Operations team is responsible for leading and developing our Partner Operations organization and establishing the vision and mission of the team. In this role, you will work with POps team members to focus on postal logistics and operations and coordinate with all other aspects of our Operations -- Commercial Printer Operations, Process Improvement, Network Strategy, Forecasting and Supply Chain for our entire Print Delivery Network (“PDN”).  You will be helping to build and maintain deep relationships within the print and postal industries. Develop a deep understanding of key industry players, supply chain best practices, and market trends. On a more tactical level, you’ll assist the team in leveraging rigorous logistic operations management principles to derive and manage metrics like quality, speed, deliverability, and cost -- all in service of delivering a world-class experience for Lob’s customers.

 

As the Director, Logistics and Mail, you’ll…

  • Oversee the postal logistics to provide best In-home delivery times to coincide with our customer expectations.
  • Oversee 3PL logistics, consolidation, commingling and other transportation logistics to provide best In-home delivery times and cost per piece to coincide with our customer expectations 
  • Act as a USPS liaison and work as an SME to internal personnel and interact with key personnel within the USPS. 
  • Suggest and work with team members to revise standard operating processes to improve delivery times, postage cost and product improvements.
  • Set long term strategic goals and work with colleagues and the team to achieve those operational goals.
  • Proactively find and implement new technology, systems and processes to reduce manual or ad hoc practices to improve process variance and streamline operations.
  • Drive the development and monitoring of KPIs tied to strategic goals, as well as evaluation of network performance against these metrics.

 

What will you bring to this role…

  • Print & mail operations experience
    • Have a Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 10+ years of relevant, operations-oriented work experience.
    • 10+ years of experience working directly with commercial printers, logistics companies and the USPS.
  • Experience working in high-performing teams
    • Are an amazing team member with demonstrated success contributing in a high growth, mission driven, geographically diverse environment
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute large, complex initiatives in a rapidly scaling business

Compensation information

CA/NYC Tier

Base: $190,000 - $201,250 + Variable: $37,500 - $40,000

US Tier

Base: $180,000 -$190,000 + Variable: $35,000 - $37,500

Salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity, perks and competitive benefits.
