The Brand Marketing Insight Analyst is an integral member of the Brand team. In this role, you will use your professional competencies and business knowledge to enhance the level of financial and marketing insights used by decision makers to provide insights that impact the growth of the company. This role serves as a resource to the Brand leadership team to deliver insights, provide recommendations and develop action plans and strategies that drive improvements in brand performance.

Reporting to the Market Strategist, the Brand Marketing Insights Analyst undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning & Strategy

  • Support the development of yearly and seasonal marketing programs, activities, and tactics for national and regional distribution.
  • Works closely with the leadership team to develop clear and actionable KPIs, breaking down the organizational annual goals and objectives for product category, sales, awareness, and other key drivers into quarterly, monthly, and weekly.
  • Review brand performance and make recommendations and proposals for areas of improvement, development, optimization, growth, and when necessary transformations.
  • Support the development of business cases for Brand initiatives and assists with program design and strategy.
  • Collaborate with different marketing squads to track performance, generate insights, and to help create an optimization roadmap to increase ROI.
  • Provide support on how to optimize spend and maximize results to improve ROI of marketing activities.
  • Supports and makes recommendations of how best to achieve marketing goals using insights derived from previous marketing initiatives.

Analysis and Insights

  • Determine impact and effectiveness of all marketing activities including brand equity, promotional activity effectiveness, events, customer acquisition/retention, customer lifetime value and overall marketing ROI.
  • Develop models to identify cost per customer acquisition, life-time value to first and last touch attribution to better inform our marketing strategy and make better use of our channels/approaches.
  • Identify markets to better target efforts by channel to increase brand discovery and traffic.
  • Surface actionable insights to our Brand and Creative team to inform campaign strategy and direction.
  • Provide data driven insights to drive how we find and market to new customers.
  • Review of the link between business drivers and key performance indicators to brand initiatives
  • Leverage media platforms to conduct research and drive greater understanding of our audience and competitors.
  • Partner with the CRM and loyalty team to enrich the organizations understanding of customer behaviors and impacts on attribution.
  • Provide marketing insights, trends/forecasts that they uncover opportunities for growth by analyzing our current customers, non-purchasers, and those who have yet to hear about our brand.
  • Return-on-investment (ROI) assessment of different Brand Communication led events/initiatives.
  • Support the sr. brand management team in quantifying the business impact and attribution of brand marketing activities and strategies.

Reporting

  • Provision of analytics reports that include a comprehensive view of our customer marketing efforts, different campaign elements, weekly reports highlighting trends, as well as engagement, and sales opportunities.
  • Development and management of reports tracking brand health and competitive intelligence gathered through social listening tools.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Digital and Demand planning to create comprehensive reporting of campaign and other brand marketing activities.
  • Responsible for the management of dashboards, daily/ monthly/ annual reports, and analysis.
  • Support the tracking of marketing spend and reporting for the Brand Director to enable clear view on marketing ROI.

 

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 5+ years of related experience in data and analytics
  • Bachelor's degree: master's preferred but not required; relevant fields (economics, business, marketing / marketing research, statistics, mathematics, psychology, sociology) desirable but not required.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirt and problem-solving skills; demonstrates intellectual curiosity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to triangulate large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to work hard and calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines, and the flexibility and dedication to work extra hours as needed.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Strong, energetic presentation skills with an ability to influence across multiple cross functional areas.
  • Ability to manage time, projects, and conflicts independently.

 Preferred:

  • Financial experience in the retail industry considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Prophix considered an asset.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft PowerBI or similar business intelligence solutions.
  • 1+ years’ experience in Google Analytics, AdWords and social media analytics
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools an asset
  • Beginner level experience with SQL
  • Beginner level experience in Python and/or R
