The Copywriter plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and sharing best practices with the Copy team. You know how to be curious about their opportunities and how to be real with feedback and support.

The Copywriter prepares persuasive, compelling copy that motivates and inspires the Lush customer. In addition to writing to various audiences, you’ll create copy for a variety of channels, including digital, print, promotional materials and product packaging, as well as brainstorm ideas and develop concepts.

Reporting to the Managing Editor, the Copywriter undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and edit compelling copy for Lush brand channels, including social media, website, email and in-store
  • Leading brand storytelling for marketing campaigns for Lush's values and ethics business area
  • Develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns in collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Proofread content written by team members and external contributors to ensure they’re engaging, error-free and on-brand
  • Generate original, creative and persuasive ideas for written content appearing across various mediums
  • Work with the Film and Photo team to develop and produce scripts for video assets
  • Work with the Creative Team to ensure all copy in layouts is accurate prior to release
  • Champion high creative standards, adhere to tight deadlines and implement last-minute changes as needed

 

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Creative writing, Journalism, Marketing or related experience
  • 3+ years of agency writing experience
  • Proven experience in writing advertising (digital and print), brand messaging, web copy, and other marketing collateral
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and executing creative concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other team members
  • Proven experience developing film and video assets, including script-writing, casting, editing, sound design, and voice-over direction and recording
  • Proficiency writing for print, as well as web copy with an understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Experience with the creation of marketing materials from concept to production
  • Ability to effectively manage time and establish clear objectives and day-to-day priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • A thorough, accurate and consistent work practice with an acute attention to detail
  • An energetic, enthusiastic, motivated and open-minded attitude

Preferred:

  • Experience working as part of an in-house copy team in an office environment
  • Experience writing longer editorial pieces, as well as conducting interviews for stories
