The Brand Event Lead plays an essential role in growing our business through brand events, product sampling and experiential activations in support of the marketing plan. You know how to lead, and understand the importance of how quality integrated work can drive a business forward.  

The Brand Event Lead leads and oversees the execution of Lush’s retail and brand events in support of the organizational strategy. You will engage with and grow the Lush community through creative, memorable and experiential activations across North America. Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, the Brand Event Lead undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the creation of brand event briefs including setting targets, identifying markets, aligning to relevant marketing initiatives and campaigns, budget tracking and setting, reporting on results.
  • Lead all North American retail or brand events, product sampling activations and major activations while meeting the event budget and brief.
  • Lead the brand discovery event strategy for the company, overseen by the Marketing Communications Manager.
  • Plan event activations by identifying, compiling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, managing logistics and implementing activation builds with external agency support.
  • Ideate and create brand storytelling opportunities through event marketing and identify when event marketing can enhance and build brand marketing strategies.
  • Lead sampling events and activations in support of strategies as directed by the Marketing Communications Manager.
  • Actively seek new trends and opportunities in event marketing and applying where applicable to Lush.
  • Write all creative event briefs for external agencies and vendors when required.
  • Source, negotiate and manage external event vendors (venue rental, caterers, build out crew, local specialists).
  • Proactively research and bring forward relevant brand and event partnership opportunities for Lush in the beauty and retail space, where aligned with the company values.
  • Regularly attend industry and brand events, (digitally or physically). This includes domestic and international travel where required (and when possible).
  • Facilitate the printing and delivery of all marketing collateral required for successful event execution.
  • Secure and coordinate support from other teams within Brand and across the wider business (creative, comms, retail, manufacturing, IT etc.).
  • Be the best possible representation of the brand when engaging with everyone from vendors, to staff and guests attending the events.
  • Effectively manage projects, special events and multiple deliverables under tight deadlines, while keeping resources and budgets on track.
  • Report on all activations including ROI, audience insights, overall performance, learnings and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the internal events and community teams to ensure alignment in brand and retail activations.

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in a related brand events field - need to demonstrate a strong track record and deep understanding of event logistics, planning and brand event management.
  • Exception experiential brand event planning and management experience.
  • A deep understanding of planning an executing brand events for a large organization in the retail industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in related field (communications, marketing, events or public relations).
  • Ability to problem solve, think critically and in an integrated manner, while presenting outside- the-box ideas.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management and be able to work to a deadline.
  • A team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work with initiative, taking direction where needed.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America and internationally when required for events.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the PR industry and how it relates to consumer and retail events.
  • Experience planning and executing media events.
