Position Summary: The MLB Network seeks a Freelance Headset Technician for the various MLB Ballparks throughout the country.

Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ability to report to their assigned MLB Ball Park 5 hours prior to the start of the game or as needed.
  • Present a professional demeanor while on the field and while interacting with on field personnel.
  • Responsible for transporting, facsing and presenting communications gear to support any on field replay challenge.
  • Assist Venue Tech in completing an operations check of the MLBAM replay system.
  • Assist Venue Tech in Establishing contact with Home and Away RSN’s.
  • Assist Venue Tech to Complete an operational check of the MLBAM replay system.
  • Assist Venue Tech to Verify operation of dugout and centerfield cameras, clean as necessary.
  • Assist Venue Tech in Preparing dugout location for possible pre\post game interviews.
  • Assist Venue Tech in the Setup and test function of dugout system camera and control system.
  • Assist Venue Tech in trouble shooting any problems with MLBN\MLBAM.
  • Assist Venue Tech in the proper Storage of all MLBN/MLBAM equipment.
  • Assist Venue Tech in Stowing and covering all operational cameras.

Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences:

This is an entry level position. 

  • 0-2 years prior sports operations experience is preferred.
  • This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Must work well in high pressure situations.
  • Some Field/Remote experience is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Able to work weekends and flexible hours, including holidays.
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk various distances between required on site locations.
  • Ability to work effectively while exposed to varying and unpredictable weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.
  • Possess the manual dexterity needed to effectively create required work product.
  • Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
  • Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively create required work product.

WORK CLASSIFICATION: Employee must work at their assigned MLB Ballpark(s).
