MAJOR PURPOSE:
Maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons and employees by patrolling and
monitoring the premises and personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safety and security policies and procedures at all times.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property on foot or in a vehicle; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Carry out an intermittent building security check schedule.
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Responds to guest requests quickly and courteously as reported by night shift staff.
- Escort any unwelcome persons from the property.
- Lock property entrances when required.
- Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.
- Notify appropriate individuals or Authorities in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
- Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and reports all accidents or substantial incidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain safety and security of guests at all times.
- Watch for and report safety hazards or conditions.
- Monitor staff leaving premises to protect against internal theft of property.
- Monitor the front desk during off peak hours.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Guest Services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) year of watchman/security experience preferred by not required.
- Must have a Class D Security Officer License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
- Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30 lbs.).
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
