MAJOR PURPOSE:

Maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons and employees by patrolling and 

monitoring the premises and personnel.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow safety and security policies and procedures at all times.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property on foot or in a vehicle; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Carry out an intermittent building security check schedule.
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
  • Responds to guest requests quickly and courteously as reported by night shift staff.
  • Escort any unwelcome persons from the property.
  • Lock property entrances when required.
  • Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.
  • Notify appropriate individuals or Authorities in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
  • Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and reports all accidents or substantial incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain safety and security of guests at all times.
  • Watch for and report safety hazards or conditions.
  • Monitor staff leaving premises to protect against internal theft of property.
  • Monitor the front desk during off peak hours.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Guest Services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) year of watchman/security experience preferred by not required.
  • Must have a Class D Security Officer License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.  
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30 lbs.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
