Institutional Property Advisors (“IPA” or the “Company”), a division of Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (NYSE: MMI) is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a top producing Multifamily Investment Sales team located in Washington D.C. The candidate will be primarily responsible for financial modeling, database management, producing high quality marketing materials, and delivering detailed market analysis to real estate developers, investors, and owners.
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Washington, D.C. is $60.000 - $75,000 a year. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Marcus & Millichap is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and review primary source documents including historic and trailing operating statements, rent rolls, and trade-out reports to develop pro-forma financials and cash flow models.Utilize an Excel based financial model to generate valuations of multifamily properties located in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.Prepare Executive Summaries for Broker Opinions of Value and Offering Memorandum.Research and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data.Prepare presentations, Offering Memorandum, and financial reports.Address underwriting questions from prospective investors.Maintain sales comparable database.Responsible for the timely execution of special projects.Required Experience:
1-3 years commercial real estate experience in advisory, banking or valuation.Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or real estate preferred.Strong financial modeling skills with core competency with Excel.Experience in the debt financing of multifamily assets - notably Fannie Mae, Freddie MAC, CMBS, bank, debt fund and other capital sources.High attention to detail in analytical assessments and valuations.Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and productively during time sensitive situations.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Independent worker with a team player attitude.Flexible attitude with the ability to handle change effectively.Desire to work hard and to learn
