Marcus & Millichap, one of the nation’s leading commercial real estate investment services company (with more than 2,000 investment sales and financing professionals in 80+ offices nationwide and throughout Canada) is seeking a Marketing Specialist based in Calabasas, CA who reports to the Senior Marketing Manager and provides administrative support to marketing efforts as well as the Creative department as needed. This position works in the Corporate Marketing department on a variety of marketing and communications projects and requires an eye for design, detail, precision and fact checking.  A key attribute is the candidate must is be able to build and maintain positive and professional working relationships with media sources and publications as well as with managers and executives throughout the firm. 

Individual must have strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive, customer-focused demeanor, an eye for detail, precision and accuracy as well as the ability to work successfully within a high production volume environment. The individual will be expected to become knowledgeable about the general commercial real estate industry including terminology.

Project Management of the following:

  • Meets with Marketing Manager and internal clients to understand and document scope and requirements for new projects.
  • Works with the internal Marketing team to enter project details into online job tracking system, assigning work to the appropriate team member and monitoring multiple project deadlines.
  • Participates in and documents discussions during internal client meetings and conference calls.
  • Understands how to manage the dynamics between and collaborate with designers, copywriters and other internal clients to execute marketing strategies.
  • Troubleshoots project issues.
  • Reports on project progress and manage resources.
  • Performs thorough quality checks to ensure completed work meets requirements.
  • Coordinates creative reviews to ensure work meets brand standards.
  • Returns work to internal client for final review. 
  • Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Business.
  • 2+ years minimum experience in project management is required. In-house marketing department or ad agency background is a plus. Commercial real estate or brokerage industry experience a strong plus.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have Quality Control and Proofing experience.
  • Must be highly organized, proactive, detail and deadline oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
  • Must be able to manage projects from start to completion within the given time-frame.
  • Able to take a positive team approach.
  • Excellent computer and internet skills are essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Experience publishing web content using Sitecore or similar content management system is a plus.
