About the Role

We are looking for a strong, independent, and innovative leader for the content commerce vertical of Meesho . You will be working directly with the General Manager (GM), and all BU leaders to define the next 3-5 year vision for Meesho’s content strategy within the Meesho App and also across all social surfaces/platforms on the internet.

This would include all long form, short form and all Live content video content. This role will contribute directly to the GMV/NMV  growth of Meesho. You will be responsible for identifying the key growth levers, setting the priorities, coming up with solutions, partner collaboration  and driving implementation in different types of projects.

What you will do

  • About content commerce: Content commerce has achieved Product-Market fit over the last 6 months and we are looking to scale this as the next biggest growth lever for Meesho. We are looking for a leader who can help the team with following
  • Long term Strategy / roadmap: Develop vision and long term strategy for content commerce vertical and drive execution to achieve NMV goals for both short term and long term. This role will be responsible for formulating the business strategy, Product strategy and partnerships. Some of the problem statements include:
  • Users: Improve the shopping experience of Meesho customers using video content in both inside and outside the app  
  • Creators: Building the right monetization model for influencers/creators. Building a creator economy for shoppable content in social media platforms 
  • Brand and sellers : Enable Brands and sellers on the platform to leverage content to improve their brand presence and growth on the platform Platforms: Identify the right social platforms for distribution of content and enable seamless shopping experience for users Identify the synergies between live shopping content , short and long form video content  and deliver great experiences for both creator and the user identify new and innovative formats based on user’s evolving content consumption and shopping behavior 
  • Team building/coaching: We are expanding the content commerce across functions and we expect the leader to build a strong team Identify the right resources required to build a scalable business in content commerce like Business, Sales,  Product, Engg, data science etc Contribute directly to the hiring of the team Build a mission aligned team with proper mentoring and coaching 
  • What you will need

  • 8-12 years of total work experience with the following:
  • Experience in startups/tech companies in similar roles (monetization, business or growth) would be beneficial.
  • 3+ years of experience in consulting from top-tier firms or leadership of a large business.
  • Preferably candidates with an MBA degree.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Superior problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong track record with proven growth in your current organization.
  • Experience in team building, management, and coaching would be a plus.
