HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST – Germany (m/f/d)

 

Job Summary: 

 

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the employee lifecycle for our team in Germany, including recruitment, payroll & benefits, premises administration and advising our management team on employee relations matters.  As part of our EMEA HR team, they will have opportunity to gain exposure to HR practices in other countries where we operate, and become involved in wider global HR projects.

 

The postholder will be required to make weekly visits to our office in Munich, or could be fully office-based if they preferred. 

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Manage the talent acquisition process for their area of responsibility, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and on-boarding qualified job applicants.  Work with hiring managers to review and update new requirements, ensuring skills & competencies are understood and appropriate for future business needs.  With the IT team, work to ensure new employees are provided with equipment & systems access necessary to their role.  
  • Manage in-country payroll and benefits, working closely with our EMEA Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll.  
  • Become a trusted advisor to the HR management team on local employee relations, performance management and engagement matters across their area of responsibility.
  •  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and national employment & immigration laws & regulations, and best practice.  Regularly review and advise HR Manager where updates to local policies, practices and handbooks are required, to ensure on-going compliance.
  •  Analyse trends in local pay & benefits and propose improvements to ensure Mitratech is positioned to attract & retain the best talent. 
  • Working with the EMEA HR Manager, provide guidance & support to managers on performance improvement, disciplinary matters and potential terminations.
  • Regularly review & act on engagement survey feedback for area of responsibility, working with line managers on action plans & local initiatives.
  • Work with the Training team to create and implement L & D programs supporting development opportunities for employees.
  • Work with members of the wider HR team on projects to improve effectiveness of our HR processes & systems, and implementation of organization-wide initiatives, such as recognition and wellness programmes. 
  • Working with the EMEA HR Manager, manage day-to-day administrative processes for our office in Munich, including, but not limited to, access passes, management of local contractor agreements, on-site employee events & activities, landlord relationship, and if appropriate, closure, dilapidations & exit plans.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned. 

  

Required Skills/Abilities:  

·            Fluencty in English and German languages, both written and spoken - these are pre-requisites for this role.

·            Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, and great attention to detail. 

·            Strong analytical, problem-solving and collaborative skills. 

·            Able to prioritize tasks and work independently. 

·            Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 

·            Thorough knowledge of German employment-related laws and regulations. 

·            Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and must have prior experience with Sage or other payroll systems. 

·            Interest in and proven ability to quickly learn the organisation’s HRIS, talent acquisition and talent management systems. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or appropriate related field required. 
  • A minimum of two years HR generalist experience, including administration & processing of payroll & benefits. Previous experience of Sage for payroll would be an advantage.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Human Resource management preferred.
