In this role, you'll be responsible for growing the legal operations function, including onboarding new technology, developing and automating processes, and problem-solving to improve the day-to-day productivity of the Legal Team. You will also help manage our contracts management platform and will help identify a new contract management platform for lawyers and sales reps. This role will be instrumental in crafting the future of the Legal Team and broader legal operations at MongoDB.

This is a full-time position based in Dublin or Toronto, but we will consider other locations, including working remotely, for the right candidate. You will report to the Managing Counsel and work with the entire Legal Team, including the VP of Legal and General Counsel on strategic projects impacting the legal function.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a technology roadmap for the Legal Team
  • Plan the expansion and development of the legal operations function
  • Identify Legal Team pain points and implement solutions to scale the operations of the Legal Team (i.e., handle design, rollout, and training for new tools, systems, and processes)
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of legal technology solutions, including contract management systems, e-billing platforms, document automation tools, and legal research and knowledge management databases
  • Coordinate daily management and maintenance of Conga contract management system, while working with the Legal Team on the implementation of the next contract management system for MongoDB
  • Coordinate daily management and maintenance of Brightflag e-billing system and vendor management
  • Assist with Knowledge Management for the Legal Team
  • Drive automation, process improvements and best practices across the Legal Team
  • Establish KPIs and provide regular reporting metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Finance, Deal Strategy, Procurement, and Business Systems
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in legal technology and operations, continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement

Our ideal candidate will have

  • 6+ years of in-house legal operations or operations experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in bringing out the best in others
