We are looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join the MongoDB International Financial Compliance team.  This team is responsible for ensuring international entities comply with local accounting standards and filing requirements and providing local accounting advice on business and tax initiatives.  Reporting to the director of International  Financial Compliance in Dublin, the senior manager  will be responsible for MongoDB India. India is the second largest entity outside of the US and is key to MongoDB's strategy.  You will work closely with the operational teams in India, local accountants, and auditors and cross-functionally with MDB Tax, Treasury, Legal and the wider finance team.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant who is interested in progressing their career in a large high growth organisation.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurgaon, India, for our hybrid working model. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial compliance requirements for MongoDB India
  • Establish and manage the India local Accounting and Compliance team 
  • Implement accounting structures for an in-house local Accounting and Compliance team
  • Maintain monthly management accounts in the local ledger
  • Maintain details reconciliation of US GAAP to STAT differences
  • Manage relationships with local auditors and tax advisors 
  • Liaising with internal Tax and Treasury teams on India-specific strategy
  • Working on global and cross-functional projects 
  • Continually improving internal controls
  • Maintaining up-to-date procedure documents
  • And other projects

 Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor and/or Master in Accounting or any related field
  • Qualified accountant (CA /CPA/ACCA)
  • PQE +5 years
  • 5-7 years experience working in a similar India-specific accounting role in a shared service/ center of excellence structure or accountancy practice
  • 3-5 years experience in managing teams
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory financial reporting under iGAAP is required
  • Good working knowledge of Tax and FEMA requirements
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with local Indian accounting systems (e.g. Tally)
  • Language skills - English and local language
  • Ability to work well as part of a team or independently as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Possess strong analytical skills (MS Excel), problem-solving, critical thinking and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experienced with Word, Excel, Google Suite and NetSuite or other ERP is an advantage

Success Measures:

The Sr. Manager Compliance will be successful in this role when they can execute the following strategic.

tasks/responsibilities:

  • in 3 months, you will be fully on-boarded to the team and start taking responsibility to for the India audit and monthly compliance
  • in 6 months, you will be proficient in the existing MongoDB process and structures and build a plan to adapt the existing process to an in-house structure
  • in 12 months, you will have expanded your network across internal and external stakeholders and use opportunities to bring awareness of the India compliance team to the wider accounting org
