We're searching for a dynamic Developer Advocate specializing in C# and Java to join our Developer Relations team. As businesses increasingly adopt modern technology stacks, your role will involve championing our enterprise solutions, enabling developers in the C# and Java communities to leverage our platform effectively. Collaborating with a global team of skilled Developer Advocates, you will be pivotal in empowering developers to integrate advanced capabilities into their enterprise applications and solutions. Candidate Profile

We seek a respected and influential voice within the Java and C# communities to join our team. 

As an experienced developer, you have produced diverse technical content, including videos, blog posts, and conference talks, sharing insights, fostering discussions, and inspiring others to adopt best practices. Your passion lies in sharing knowledge and enabling fellow developers with cutting-edge technology.

With at least five years of experience in a technical role, preferably as a developer within an enterprise environment, you bring extensive expertise in C# or Java and understand the challenges developers encounter at large organizations. 

You might have some experience as a developer advocate or have been doing advocacy tasks and now looking to do it full-time. Although it is not mandatory, a general understanding of MongoDB would be a plus. Your contributions to open-source projects or collaborative platforms showcase your ability and eagerness to assist others in tackling innovative challenges.

As an effective communicator and educator, you can simplify complex concepts and facilitate understanding. While developing expertise in our enterprise solutions, you will appreciate the core capabilities of our platform, including its integration with enterprise languages.

Our team is built to work together, share knowledge, and help each other grow. You will work with others at all levels, supporting peer reviews, building demos, delivering sessions, and creating other content.

Above all, you should be genuinely passionate about enabling other developers to be more productive and successful in their day-to-day jobs.

Position Expectations

  • Establish yourself as a recognized authority on our enterprise solutions within the organization and the broader developer community, leveraging your expertise in C# or Java
  • Maintain and continually develop proficiency in one or more complementary programming languages to communicate with developers and contribute to product improvements effectively
  • Work closely with the product and growth marketing teams, offering expert counsel on the most effective ways to engage and enable the developer community online and in person
  • Partner with our marketing teams to co-create compelling, authentic messaging and strategies that resonate with our target audiences
  • Support our community team to help with the growth of our MongoDB user groups (MUGs) and our champions and influencer programs across your region

Requirements

  • Strong background in software development with a focus on Java and C#. Proficiency in one language is required, with solid familiarity and practical experience in the other
  • Experience with development frameworks such as .NET for C# and Spring for Java
  • Five years of technical experience, preferably as a developer or solution architect, with some advocacy experience and a high-level understanding of MongoDB would be a plus
  • Proficiency in building solutions with Java and C# technologies in the context of large enterprises
  • Proven track record of creating content (tutorials, guides, documentation) to facilitate learning and adoption of Java and C# technologies
  • Active participation in community events, conferences, webinars, or online platforms, showcasing expertise in Java and C# topics
  • Language requirement: Korean fluency strongly preferred
  • 10% travel

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$104,000$204,000 USD
