The Migrations and App Modernization initiatives at MongoDB develop tools and programs for our customers to accelerate their modernization journey from legacy relational systems or self-managed MongoDB databases to MongoDB’s Developer Data Platform, Atlas. This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the product vision, roadmap, growth and implementation plans for MongoDB Database tools and Atlas Live Migrate. Ensure all MongoDB customers can continuously synchronize data or migrate to MongoDB Atlas clusters reliably, with predictability and with ease regardless of the workload demands or the complexity of deployment architectures
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Program Management managers and peer Product Managers to translate a shared product vision into a reality.
  • Define and help build the infrastructure to innovate in the areas of Data Migration and App Modernization so that MongoDB continues to meet the needs of our largest customers.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the Quality of Service provided to customers through regular collaboration with customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Reduce the sophistication and experience required by customers to operate MongoDB at scale.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for Migration and App Modernization. Assist Sales, Support, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Product Marketing teams.
  • Contribute to documentation, blog posts, demos, and marketing materials for new features related to Live Migration Service, Cluster-to-Cluster Sync, Data Mobility, and App Modernization with MongoDB.
  • Define personas for different customer reliability challenges, explain trade-offs for addressing each challenge, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Communicate complex concepts related to database and data mobility in a manner easily understood by multiple audiences.
  • Improve MongoDB’s brand perception as a Robust Database capable of running Mission-Critical Workloads.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of experience in product management with a strong focus on database distributed systems and/or cloud architectures and/or data mobility/migration
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data mobility, and the database market
  • Capacity and willingness to delve into complex technical details and relate the effects of technical decisions to the user experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and launching enterprise-grade products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present technical content to diverse non-technical audiences
  • Strong ability to collaborate with people from different parts of the company to ensure solutions drive real business impact
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage a portfolio of different-sized bets while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision
  • Strong technical background with an understanding of how software is built, packaged, deployed, and operated
  • Experience guiding the full product development process: creation, design, execution, quality testing, etc.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$118,000$231,000 USD
