We're looking for a high energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the Revenue team as a Sr Specialist. This is a brand new role created to support the company's growth and will be based out of our Gurugram office.This individual will be required to assist with all revenue operations processes consisting of month end close, booking entries to the general ledger, reviewing sales transactions in our ERP system for completeness and accuracy, and revenue and deferred revenue account reconciliations.

Team Description

The Revenue team is an extremely visible, high-performing team, ultimately responsible for accurate financial reporting of revenue. The team is responsible for managing the monthly close, contract negotiation and determining appropriate accounting treatment for our product offerings. Additionally, this team is responsible for designing and maintaining controls over reporting of revenue and assisting in quarterly forecasting activities for revenue and billings. This role will report directly to the Manager of Revenue. 

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting (CA/CPA is a plus) with 7+ years of experience in a similar role within a global revenue accounting team - required 

  • Knowledge of revenue operations, revenue recognition and reconciliation process - required
  • Prior experience working with sales data, customer contracts and product offerings - required 

Proficient in MS Excel & experience working with large volumes of data - required

  • Previous experience in Software/SaaS industry - required
  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce) - Required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 is preferred

Position Expectations

  • Participate in routine month end close activities including cash activity, flux and other analyses, reconciliations and revenue recognition 
  • Analyze sales transactions within the Company’s ERP systems to ensure accuracy of data and integrity of revenue schedules, inclusive of revenue allocations 
  • Support review of different revenue streams for appropriate revenue treatments
  • Perform analyses to assess the need for combining contracts pursuant to ASC 606
  • Help validate completeness and accuracy of SAAS usage and professional services data for revenue recognition
  • Assist in calculation of self serve revenue from online credit card transactions 
  • Assist in work papers, PBC’s and process walk-throughs for audits (internal and external)
  • Support preparation of contract review write ups and identifying any non-standard terms
  • Maintain deferred revenue and contract asset schedule
  • Assist with preparation of executive-level analytics for various internal and external presentations
  • Work cross-functionally with key internal business partners, such as GL, OTC, and Business Systems on ongoing issues and help drive to conclusion
  • Assist in other ad hoc project work as required

Success Measures

  • A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a fast moving environment as well as have experience and a strong interest in operational processes.
  • In 30 days, a successful candidate will become familiar with our business, product offerings, and revenue streams. In 3 - 6 months, you’ll become familiar with our internal systems, operational workflows, and accounting close tasks assigned to you and would be performing them independently.  In 6 - 9 months, you’ll have established relationships with key business partners such as GL, Billing/OTC, and Business Systems/ERP and would be working directly with them as and when issues arise.
