Job Description

We’re looking for a React Software Engineer III to join our front-end engineering team at Nextiva. In this role, you will develop dynamic, scalable, and user-centric web applications using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to build seamless, performant experiences that help power the future of Nextiva's communications platform.

As a mid level engineer, you’ll be expected to contribute high-quality code, own feature delivery, and help improve the overall structure and maintainability of our front-end systems. This is a great opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, high-impact environment while working with a modern stack and an experienced engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive, reusable, and accessible UI components using React, TypeScript, and modern front-end tools.
  • Implement clean and consistent application state management patterns.
  • Integrate with backend APIs and services, ensuring robust data handling, error management, and user experience.
  • Optimize frontend performance across browsers and devices, including lazy loading, code splitting, and rendering techniques.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, QA, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features.
  • Write unit, integration, and E2E tests using Jest, React Testing Library, etc.
  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of the codebase and development workflow.
  • Contribute to the refinement and enforcement of front-end standards, design systems, and UI consistency.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of front-end development experience with a strong focus on React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Deep understanding of responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale SPAs in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with frontend build systems and tools such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, and ESLint.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints into frontend applications.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and usability best practices.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and using tools like Jira, Git, and CI/CD platforms.
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and performance tuning skills in the browser.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with design systems (e.g., Storybook).
  • Exposure to micro-frontend architecture or modular monorepos.
  • Experience working with real-time data or WebSockets.
  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security practices in frontend applications.
